Courtlands Cafe in Watford is a straightforward, no-frills spot where locals and visitors alike come for hearty, well-priced meals paired with some of the best coffee you'll find in the area. As a classic café tucked on Courtlands Drive, it’s the kind of place that fits effortlessly into a morning routine or a casual brunch stop before heading out to nearby attractions like the Harry Potter Studios.

The atmosphere here feels warm and unpretentious, with a service style that’s friendly and welcoming rather than polished or overly refined. It's the sort of place where you can expect a genuine greeting and attentive staff who seem to know their regulars. Portions are generous, making it popular for people looking for substantial breakfasts and classic British cafés staples.

The menu leans heavily on traditional café fare—think full fry-ups, omelettes packed with cheese and mushrooms, and sandwiches loaded with chicken or corned beef and eggs. There’s also a solid choice of pies and pastas, providing options beyond the usual café staples. Many visitors appreciate the mix of casual and filling meals, from a mushroom and cheese omelette large enough to share, to burgers and the kind of chips that draw you back again.

Typically, visitors are locals who want a reliable spot for breakfast or lunch without fuss, but also travelers stopping in for a refuel before a day out. Mornings and weekends, especially around breakfast time, seem to be the busiest moments, with a steady flow of people who appreciate the no-nonsense style and generous portions for reasonable prices.

Worth noting is that the café has operated on a cash-only basis recently, so it’s helpful to come prepared. Despite this minor inconvenience, the experience doesn’t suffer—customers tend to remark on the friendly atmosphere and well-made coffee, which stands out as a highlight amid the hearty food offer.

Overall, Courtlands Cafe suits anyone after a solid British breakfast or a filling lunch in a casual, friendly setting where portion size and value take priority. It’s not a place for a quick, grab-and-go coffee, but rather for sitting down over a proper meal, soaking in local everyday life, and enjoying a no-nonsense café experience in Watford.

We had breakfast here before visiting Harry Potter Studios and had a friendly welcome, great value good food and the best coffee I have had in a cafe ever. Honestly, I wish I didn't live 100miles away!

Had a visit in here this morning for a breakfast and omelette with my wife, very happy with the service and food. I must note this is temporarily cash only. Had a small issue trying to find cash today but was resolved in the end. Food was fantastic and very tasty. Thank you
